Why ICT, why now

Every data center, hospital and school in Georgia runs on cable somebody installed.

Data centers, fiber buildouts and 5G are expanding across the state, and the people who pull, terminate and certify that infrastructure are in short supply. This is skilled work with an entry point that does not require a degree.

Days

Short, focused courses

Each BICSI installer course runs days to a week. Earning a credential also requires meeting BICSI's eligibility requirements and passing the applicable exam, which we help you prepare for.

Hands-on

A lab, not a lecture hall

You will terminate copper, splice and test fiber, and test links on the same tools used on job sites. The lab is planned to BICSI's published equipment standard.

Support

Career support alongside the technical work

Workplace communication, résumé preparation and interview practice run with every cohort. We are developing employer relationships to connect training with local opportunities.

Straight answers

Questions, answered.

Is CGTTC already approved by BICSI?

Not yet. CGTTC has applied to become a BICSI Authorized Training Facility. Official BICSI courses will be offered once the facility application, lab buildout and instructor approval are complete. Join the interest list and we will tell you the moment enrollment opens.

When do classes start, and how much time do they take?

No start dates yet; they depend on BICSI approval and the lab buildout. Each course runs days to a week of in-person instruction. BICSI recommends roughly 50 hours of independent study with the installation manual before the Installer 1 exam.

Do I need any experience or a degree?

Not for Installer 1 (IN101), which assumes no prior experience. The Installer 2 and Technician exams have their own eligibility routes that combine documented field experience with training. You need to be at least 16 to inquire, able to do physical work and willing to learn a standard and follow it.

I have a criminal record. Can I enroll?

Yes. Serving justice-impacted individuals is core to our mission. Some employers and job sites have their own requirements, and we will be honest with you about which roles are open to you.

How much does it cost?

Tuition and what it includes will be published when enrollment opens. BICSI exam fees are paid to BICSI separately and are not part of course tuition. We are pursuing grant funding and employer sponsorship to cover seats for eligible participants; none is confirmed yet.

What is BICSI, and why does the credential matter?

BICSI is a professional association that develops standards, education and credentials for information and communications technology infrastructure. Its installer and technician credentials are recognized by employers worldwide, and some employers and project specifications require them.

Will I get a job when I finish?

We cannot guarantee employment. What we plan to provide is a credential employers recognize, career-readiness coaching, and introductions to employers as partnerships are confirmed.

I need testing accommodations. Can you help?

Yes. BICSI handles accommodation requests for its exams, and we will help you prepare and submit the request. Tell us what you need when you reach out.

Where are classes held?

At the planned Macon training site in Suite 49 of the Macon Mall, 3661 Eisenhower Parkway, once the lab is complete. Some instruction may be delivered virtually where BICSI permits.
